Sooner or later you’re going to be really anxious about something you really want to do or someone you really want to see and you’re going to want to express that excitement to your Spanish friends. In this post you’re going to learn how to do just that.
There a number of ways we can skin this cat, so let’s take a look them.
We’ll just work with two simple examples so you can see how to say the same thing using each expression.
No puedo esperar a
¡No puedo esperar a verte mañana!
I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
No puedo esperar a ir a México
I can’t wait to go to Mexico
No puedo esperar hasta que
This one is a little tricky because it needs the verb in the subjunctive after hasta que.
No puedo esperar hasta que te vea mañana
I can’t wait until I see you tomorrow
No puedo esperar hasta que vaya a México
I can’t wait to go to Mexico
No puedo esperar para
No puedo esperar para verte mañana
I can’t wait to see you tomorrow
No puedo esperar para ir a México
I can’t wait to go to Mexico
No ver la hora de
This one is actually my personal favorite.
No veo la hora de verte mañana
I can’t wait to see you tomorrow
No veo la hora de ir a México
I can’t wait to go to Mexico
And there you go. Four ways to express the idea of “I can’t wait” in Spanish.
